A little FYI. While, there's little doubt he used the "word" in question, the quote above has never been verified, and was first reported in 1995. You won't find a single reference to that statement prior to then.

Well, since the book that exposed this quote came out in 1995 and the internet first became widespread in the 90's it better not be surprising to anyone that you won't find any reference before that.

Look into events like The Greenwood Massacre (sometimes referred to as The Tulsa Race Riots) in '21. Black businesses and the black middle class were under pressure and in a precarious position long before LBJ. He just greased the skids
