It's about time we revived the saying: "Quiet, the adults are talking." Some adults are no better, but at least they are adults.

I wish I could describe the exact sound my eyes just made as they hit the back of my skull.

I could not stand to watch the whole thing; after about a minute, the hyperbole that ran through each kid's ranting speech was clear.

So, the same people who don't believe that an eighteen year old is capable of buying a firearm, purchasing alcohol, or making an informed decision whether to smoke a cigarette, or, [gasp!] vape, believe that we should be listening to these kids who scream ill-informed but passionate positions on issues for which they lack any real knowledge.

As noted above, this is largely the parents' fault. Whatever happened to "question authority?"

    Where's the bacon?
... Whatever happened to "question authority?"

They are questioning authority, just not the right one(s). From what I remember at that age, I knew that the UN existed, as we were expected to carry around a little blue box and “trick or treat for UNICEF” when I was younger than 10, but the idea of going and addressing them would have defied any possible logic or reason.

Come to think of it, it still does, and for that matter, so does the UN.

    Blessings,
    Bill

“Angry” doesn’t look good on anyone.

Her speech was so inspiring, I think I may drive my big ass truck all the way across town for lunch today instead of eating somewhere close to work. Today’s activist youth is so inspiring. So smart. So brave.

I remember the blue little box, collecting for UNICEF, when I was too young to know better. That was in the 60's.

You're spot on. The UN has become a self-perpetuating bureaucracy, existing now only to perpetuate itself, enrichen its staff, and provide a platform for speakers who would otherwise be rightly ignored. It has outlived any good that it ever did, IMO.
