You guys have any residual pain after these hand injuries?

Years back, I nearly cut my left thumb off. I had "it's gonna rain," pains for years.

With having my four left hand finger tendons cut with some de-gloving, 30 years later I still stretch the scar tissue a few ties a week.
It drops things on its own once in awhile, other than the stretching its about pain free unless I hit it with a tool...

Even mine doesn't really hurt. There's some numbness in the thumb and index finger that may or may not go away. Also in the picture below if you see there's kind of a line where it was sutured together, I think because of how deep it was even though the outside is closed up, it still has to kinda slowly heal outward and if something touches that I get a strong pins and needles "zap" feeling because the nerves are really close to the surface.

Damon Bailey's dad dies, mom in critical condition after motorcycle accident

...The father of Hoosier basketball great Damon Bailey died Monday and his mother was critically injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred at about 2:47 p.m. in Brown County.

Wendell Bailey, with his wife Beverly as passenger, was driving a 1990 Honda GL 1500SE motorcycle along Ind. 46 near Nashville when a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Jacob Waltermire crossed the road's center line and struck a 2012 Hyundai Elantra driven by Hana Cai, according to a news release from the Brown County Sheriff's Office. Cai was traveling behind the motorcycle and could not avoid a collision with Waltermire's car, the release said.

Sheriff officials are unclear how Bailey's motorcycle was involved in the accident. The report stated that despite lifesaving efforts, Wendell Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene. Beverly Bailey was flown to a nearby hospital via helicopter due to the extent of her injuries, the report said...

Spent the last three days riding from Corpus Christi Texas to Stuttgart Arkansas. The last two days have been thru all day rains which definitely sucked, and calling for rain again tomorrow.

I was strongly considering a trip out South/Southwest before my incident.

Got this stubby pinky about 20yrs ago. It still gives me fits in cold weather.

Well the parts where it has kinda filled in are fine so hopefully I don't have to deal with it for that long.

Thinking about riding in the rain, makes me wonder about different tires and how well they perform on wet roads. I started riding in the early 70's and still like the tread patterns from that time. A lot of the new tires look to me like slicks with a few grooves cut in them with very little tread until you get over into the sidewall. The descriptions tell how great they are on wet roads but I think they would be prone to hydroplane, good on dry roads but not in the rain. Looking for real world riders not advertising. Jim.

I like the new tires much better than 40+ years ago, I ran Avons then, today the roads are cleaner and don't have the oil slick in the center of each lane and intersections.
I run Michelin Commander 2's and are very happy with the wet/dry 9 months a year performance that I ride now days. I'm a leaner, been known to rub a primary a few times, the only times I believe I have had sidewall slip is because of some gravel or cutting a intersection short and riding over one of the steel box covers in the asphalt for traffic light controls. I though about putting the new Commander 3's on my FXDC this summer but I kept looking at the wide slick in the center of the tire that I could not move past..

I switched to Michelin ROAD 5 tires on two bikes mainly because the reviews claim they have among the best wet road grip available. I’m not a fair weather only rider so wet performance is important to me. I’ve not been disappointed by wet performance with the Road 5. The tire also doesn’t seem to be nearly as affected by tar snakes and other issues. Best road touring tire I’ve found. Probably not your choice for gravel roads, I ride those with the Road 5 and it’s not as secure as a more aggressive tread, but in the rain the Road 5 wins hands down. I can avoid gravel roads but it’s much harder to avoid rain and wet roads.

I just put new Dunlop Elite 4’s on my wing this spring. They seem almost unaffected by the rain. The only time I’ve gotten them to break traction, was going into an intersection a little hot in the rain, my back tire kicked out on the painted turn arrow. It grabbed fine as soon as it was off the painted surface.

No I didn't crash!:rockwoot:Yesterday rode the Dragon north and south then the Cherohala Skyway west and east back to Robbinsville. Over 200 miles with more curves that I can count. It was my first time down there and it was better than I had imagined.
