NRA Board Elections…

Any plan for those that want to neuter WPL? In the past there was a plan to elect Adam Kraut. Anyone know who Johnny Nugent from Lawrenceburg IN? He is on the list.

So 54 folks have looked at this and we have nothing? For all the b****ing and moaning of INGO about the evil WLP you guys have nothing to say about who to put on the board? Like I have said before here, I doubt most of the complainers are even eligible to vote…

I hope some of you can answer the question?

Here is a guy that gets it. Adam Kraut was working to get on the board for reform. He did not get the votes. Then in the Indy bloodbath, he was offered a temporary seat, he declined because, like me he still wants to save the organization and not give our enemies aid to do so. A quote from his declination letter to his supporters.

”I am not willing to put the NRA into a position where my new position and role in our community could even potentially create a conflict, or even a bad optical light that could be leveraged against it by the media and its enemies. Thus, I cannot in good conscience accept a position as an NRA director.”

Not sure why this warranted the drive by bomb. I really was hoping someone knew Johnny Nugent and if there was a voting strategy or personally had connections with candidates.

Because Kelly saw the need that’s why. He is a stellar person and fair to a fault. He does not make up work for himself.

My question was about why the member posted what he did. I was glad Kelly deleted the posts.

If I had that question, it would be a PM to Kelly, not in the forum.

With all due respect, I think many have decided the best way to neuter WPL is by cutting off support. So far, we haven’t reached whatever critical mass is necessary to force his ouster. There have been other campaigns before to elect good people onto the board but here we are in spite of those efforts.

As for me, often times selecting who to vote for is much like deciding who to vote for for school board, county commissioner, or judge. Unless you know them personally or they have some sort of track record, it’s a popularity contest.

Thanks but I did not see them. We were discussing this thread in the Mod room.
We do discuss much but not all of what we see before we act. Makes things more fair.

I don't know Johnny Nugent, but I think it's Ted's brother.

Johnny was a Indiana state Representative for awhile. He is from my district. I've meet him a few times nice guy pro gun. How pro gun I'm nit sure. He had a good NRA rating for years. If it's the same person. He is also an Army Veteran.

Johnny Nugent is a former IN State senator. He authored the preemption bill, along with one that would have prohibited public colleges from banning firearms. From his time in office he seems to be very strong on 2nd amendment issues. No idea on how he feels about WLP.

Yes, I have a vote, and just received my vote packet. Did not really know who to vote for so I wanted to get input from other voters and those with knowledge of the situation. I really hope we can get some reformers on the board. I hope Kelly adds his input, if not in the forum at least through PM…

That's why my vote will be for Frank, simply because he wants to reduce the number on the board and term limits.
