Swisher, Jon's holsters are all we use. The Access has gone through ECQC with no problems. The strut is an injected molded piece by raven and quite robust.
Again, this is not a primary carry option in most cases outside of NPE. The number one reason people cant get used to ankle carry is poor equipment. Chances are if you weren't using a galco ankle glove or something considerably more expensive, you were using a bad holster.
Ok man, watever you want to believe. When you want to pressure test your theories, ecqc is waiting, though I'm sure you'll have excuses for why that wasn't a realistic test afterwards because you couldnt use your ninja killing moves...
If your day consists of driving to your office job, sitting at a desk for 8 hours than driving back, ankle carry makes more sense than most other carry methods. In that situation, not only is it more accessible than pocket carry 95% of the time, but you can carry a much more substantial gun in...
I started carrying the day i turned 21. I started training when i was 18 and had roughly 100hrs of formal firearms training under well-regarded instructors by then and innumerable hours of practice.
I believed then as i believe now that carrying a deadly weapon without significant relevant...
All i have to say about the distinction between fighting technique and shooting technique is that I've never seen an ECQC evolution where this particular bit of minutia made a difference. Shooting from retention, various degrees of extension, in fight weapon access and grappling skill on the...
Sounds like you need to someone to adjust your 1 handed shooting technique to better control recoil so you are more consistent shot to shot.
I'm guessing you are holding the gun straight up without any cant when shooting with one hand?
Here's my thoughts on it:
The further out your support hand is, the more control you will have over the muzzle. Lever arms and physics 'n' stuff. Back in the day when vertical grips were the thing, i was running mine way forward and people were telling me i was doing it wrong. Whatever.
The...
Grip safeties are known to be problematic when a full grip can not be established such as when injured or shooting from close retention. This is why all the old school gunfighters pinned the grip safeties on their 1911's. Unfortunately, disabling safety devices doesn't look good post shooting...
It all has to do with how you explain the modifications to your gun. If the trigger job is done to help you shoot more accurately, then it was done to reduce the hazards to bystanders, not to help you kill more effectively.
Where a lighter than factory trigger might get you in trouble is...
I've worked in EMS for over a decade. The only people I've seen accidentally shoot themselves as a result of their carry method were carrying without holsters or not observing basic safety fundamentals. A gun disabler is not a substitute for safe handling.
