Thanks, I was thinking a colt body too. He got it at a trading post in KY many moons ago. It has a Wilson back sight and a small fiber optic front sight. And the hand grips are for a much bigger hand than mine.
A buddy had this, I didn't see any marks on the barrel or frame. Any help would be appreciated. It also has cylinder lockup issues (it's pretty sloppy) so a recommendation for a gunsmith would be appreciated too.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I am looking for some waterproof (able to put my hand in a cold pond and not get wet) and have some good insulation and able to shoot with. I only it is a tall task but that is what I am looking for, the cabelas version leaked and absorbed water...
indy gun club has trap, skeet, and clay pigeons and you can rent guns...they also manage atterburry. The 1187 is pretty much a 3" max gun (maybe some weird variant that shoots 3.5") I have shot pump, O/U, and semi on all of the above...i prefer semi auto's (my opinion) of which an 1187 was most...
Pretty active, try the indy gun club on the NE side, thats where I go and they have a lot of shotguns on display. I think the marion county fish and wildlife may have skeet too...not sure on that.
