Ok, it's an Elpaso Saddlery holster. Looking at it closer I can see that a lot of the issue is the triple stacked belt loop of the Duluth pants, but that isn't going anywhere, and that's what makes it extra floppy when he's wearing the non-"ultimate" Duluth pants without that triple stacked side...
Yeah, like I said above, I forgot to get a picture of it last weekend when I was down at their place. I'll be back there tomorrow, and I'll take a picture to and post.

One issue with the lack of a thumb break is like when he sits down on the tractor or zero turn and the armrest pushes up on the grip, or when moving brush or whatever and the same thing happens.
There's also the fact that he's carried in either a retention-less holster or a thumb break for the...
I actually just found these, which have the option of suede inside them, and a thumb snap. I'm open to any other options, though!

Ok, so my dad wears his 1911 in a leather thumb break OWB belt holster at the farm. It's not terribly old, but it flops horribly. It probably hangs 25-30 degrees pointing toward his hip because the holster is so U-shaped hanging from the belt loops. Of course all the sweat and such doesn't help...
I lucked out and scored several of the carbon fiber ones when whoever it was (Rhino?) was going out of business, for like $80 each, IIRC. Put one on all of my hunting ARs (.458 and and a couple 6.8s). Before that, though, id go with a lightweight quad rail with rail covers.

I put one on one of my ARs (I honestly don't remember if it was my .458 or one of my 6.8s) and it did stop the case mouths from getting dinged, I remember. I don't recall anything about where the spent brass flew with it, though.
The one on my 5.56 match rifle is the "standard" style sheetmetal...
If I don't need to, that's better! Not looking for more accurate, at all, but I had just seen people say that you want 180gr+ for elk, with 30 Cal stuff?

Thanks! I'm pretty stoked about it, and I suppose I'm not going to mess with the donut, with this load.
I am probably going to mess with 180gr stuff for development, for the eventual elk hunting, in a couple years.
