If you own an iPhone, check out Offline Topo Maps app by Trail Behind. Easy to download/store maps and use your phone as a GPS. You don't need to be connected because it'll store the maps offline. Screen/map quality is better than most handheld GPS, and best of all, it's free.
Agreed, prices vary based on rarity, market demand, etc. Keep an eye out on BF/eBay and see what the model goes for. eBay is nice, as sold price is published, whereas on BF these may be removed after the sale.
You should probably also check out Tenergy - I use them for all of my NiMH rechargables. LED Warehouse has a charger/combo, and he's a member here.

I'd recommend these RCR123 from AW. You can find them online at a few places, normally pretty inexpensive @ lighthound --
AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery
Harbor Freight sells one cheap ($699), but I'm sure it comes up very short of a Miller or other comparable brand.
Inverter Plasma Cutter - 240 Volt
I think I'd recommend buying whatever 'free replacement' warranty they'd offer with this.
SSC is the other big player in the LED game. They all manufacture fantastic products and are always competing to produce the most efficient lumens/watt to extend battery life.
+1 on the Quark -- I don't think you will be disappointed!
These look really nice... I definitely prefer the more traditional style of #7. Looks like it will turn out great! One of these days (when I can find some "free" time), I might have to try my hand at making my own as well! Keep up the good work :)
Definitely some of that around here. I actually live at the 3500ft elevation mark in the Sierras, where the houses disappear and national forest begins :D
