Will carrying on colleges ever be legal?

Hey everyone, I am 20 years old and attend Ivy Tech of Gary, Indiana. I have my LTCH and have been carrying for close to a year now. The college has a strict policy on firearms. You technically can't even store your firearm in your car on property.:xmad: Doing so, if ever caught, can put you...

INGO members should all get together and do this around the state!

Armed Citizens Line Up to Guard GA Recruiting Center We all should team up with people in our area and protect our troops! This is defiantly an eye opener to congress! Who's with me? I live by the recruiting center in Griffith, Indiana.

Can I store my firearm in my vehicle at work? (Childcare facility on property)

I work part-time for my town's recreational facility and I always store my firearm in the trunk of my car. Is it illegal by Indiana statue to keep it in my car? I know Indiana has a code to protect employee's to store it in their vehicles. However, It mentions an ordinance may be enforced if...

      Indiana code

I am in a local police explorer group. I have been on numerous ride alongs before and a lot of police officers still believe you need your permit on you to carry your firearm. If you are detained or checked and you tell them you don't have it, you might find yourself being verbal abused and...

Where is "the wrong place" for a gun?

Kinda of the opposite approach but I think carry should be allowed on college/universities. The Only place I think we should not carry is Federal government property. This could be places such as The FBI, military bases, courthouses, etc.

      Carrying on a boat

I never heard of a law restricting us who have a LTCH which lakes we can and can not carry on. Only place sorta related to the topic would be No carry allowed in "Falls of the Ohio" state park. Everywhere else is a :yesway:

      Address change

You need to update your new address through the Indiana State Police through via fax or their website. You don't need to buy a new card for $20, however, some police officers may hassle you because they do not know the law. It's a misdemeanor crime to falsely identify in our state and that one...

1st official police interaction while carrying today

Yes your right, being disarmed could end up in a ND. I believe police officers should just leave the gun inside of the holster for those who carry. I don't see an issue with just letting him know though However, if the cop does disarm me and doesn't know how to clear my Glock 22 4th Gen, we are...

What to do when an aggressive large animal charges at you? (While carrying)

Hey guys I need a little bit of advice about the self defense topic with animals. I took a criminal law class at school last semester and we discussed a handful about self-defense. However, we never talked about person vs. animal. A couple days ago, I walked my girlfriend to her car at about...

      Did I do it right?

Good job to you man! You are not a coward! You did the right thing and you were just looking out for those people in need of help. Anyone know if it would have been proper/legal in this situation to draw down on the aggressor and give command orders for him to stop?

For Those That Carry On an Empty Chamber

When I started carrying, I was a member on this website and compared the two ways of carrying (loaded and unloaded) and decided to carry one in the chamber. As long as your holster has a trigger guard and you know where to place your finger when drawing or handling your firearm, you will be fine!
