      Pressure Canning

Can I use the basket from my water-bath canner on bottom and put new tray on top? Yep. Something that makes canning easier is to use a weight on the canner for controlling the pressure. Heat still needs turned down as the canner heats up, but if you can hear it spurt once in a while, you can...

      Electrical help??!!?!?!

I'm not quite sure about your elec panel, whether there is a GFCI there, but they aren't designed to work more than one on a circuit, so if that's the problem, just leave the one out of the outlet.

Palmetto State and their South Bend magazine restriction policy

If they are afraid of a lawsuit, they will probably need to get sued for not selling the mags before they change their policy. Sometimes ignorance+authority=stupidity.

Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings has Died

Hookeye's post said it all. (#49) ...and his last words could have been, "I told you so".

Buckwheat honey is real dark brown and sugars quickly. I used to love eating big chunks of comb. As to allergies, I became...

      Your First Handgun

H&R .32 in S&W Long. Real piece of crap. But I learned how to fix it, and would carry it to the bean field for groundhogs when I was a kid. Even got one. I also learned that some guns are made more to sell than shoot. When I grew up, I traded it off and lived happily ever after.

      Generator

Figure out the wattage of your most important appliances (volts X amps = watts) and go from there. A smaller unit can power a couple appliances at a time if you keep the other breakers shut off.

Saw lead in mid flight for the first time.

Got bored squirrel hunting once and was watching a titmouse fly off a branch and come back. Kept it up. Finally figured he was catching mosquitoes. Decided to test his eyesight with a .22 and sure enough, every time I would shoot past him, he would watch the bullet. Never could catch it though...

      2mm pinfire revolver

Name of gunshop: Wabash Valley Shooting Supply. The gun wasn't supposed to shoot anything but blanks, but a #8 or 9 shot would shoot. Doug got the gun from me and claimed he got $350 for it. Hard to tell what he told that guy or if he actually got what he said. He was pretty windy. (Also claimed...
