Camping Last Weekend - Pic HEAVY

Very nice looking meals there! Definitely much tastier than the dehydrated meals I usually pack in down at Hoosier. I've never been to Waveland, but it looks like a really nice area for a weekend of camping. Have done the backpack area of Shades which is ok, but have to walk back and forth...

      Patton Cave

The last time I was at Patton's Cave this summer too I saw that the sign had been put back up directly in front of the cave entrance. Hopefully, the DNR will lift the ban soon, I think that the cave is really cool in the winter with the ice formations.

      barebones camping areas

I would also recommend the Charles Deam Wilderness area of Hoosier National Forest. You will definitely see the sites/areas that are routinely used to set up camp, but you can basically set up anywhere within the Wilderness area. There are also some nice areas along the North Country Trail in...

Just got my first hunting license!

Subtlesixer03, I'm in a similar boat as you. Have had my hunting license the past 2 years but have only been out once with my 26 year old son for a failed attempt at coyotes at Kingsbury. Would love to learn some of the basics for upland, waterfowl, rabbits, and coyotes but don't really know...

Do you buy a license even if you don't go?

The last two years I have bought the combo hunting/fishing license but only got out once for coyote hunting with my youngest son. I agree with Leo though, easiest for me to just have it in case the opportunity arises to get out there again.

Intro to Level I Defensive Handgun Course

Would love to be able to do the 17, 18, and 20th class but unfortunately can't make weeknights with the commute involved. Are you planning any additional classes in the upcoming weekends?

How many guns do you own?

Currently I have just 3. An O/U 20ga, 12 ga semi, and a .22lr. In the process of choosing my first handgun, which I hope to get this weekend.

      Hi Point gun snob!

Glad to see this thread. I've been looking to get my first handgun and have been looking at the C9 a bit. After reading your posts I figure that for $139 new I can't really go wrong. And if I don't like it, then it will make a decent spare that I won't worry about getting dinged up. Gotta love...

      Current LTCH Wait

I applied online on Wednesday evening September 22, was fingerprinted the next evening after work at the Valparaiso PD. Mailed the prints and application that same evening on the 23rd. Received my card in mail this past Saturday the 1st:) So, nine days from mailing to receipt, I can't...
