      Mandrel Sizing / Neck Tension

Thanks for sharing that info. I typically either regular full-length resize for a 0.002" shoulder bump or use a Lee Collet Die if I am being lazy and not interested in lubricating anything. I've heard mandrels and bushings are the way to go, but just haven't taken the plunge yet. I'll have to...

So.. what are you reloading at the moment??

I haven’t been able to find any H4350 so I’m using my on-hand IMR 4350. And yes, I got the Barnes bullets hoping to find good performance for their budget cost. Initial weight sorting wasn’t all that promising, but we shall see!

So.. what are you reloading at the moment??

Loaded my first 10 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor. Using once-fired Federal cases from some GMM I shot, Fed 205 small rifle primers, Barnes 140gr Match Burner bullets. Going to do a 10-shot "ladder" test so I loaded 10 rounds, each charge 0.3gr above the last.

PSA: Savage 12FV back on sale for $310 plus freebees.

I have $50 in Bass Pro Gift cards to use up and this is looking mighty tempting. Wish I had some 20% off cards in my pocket as well. I'd like to build a .223 AI and this would be a great donor rifle.

Ruger precision 300 win mag or 338 LM

I have a lightweight sporter in .300WM and a much heavier Savage 112 Magnum Target in .338 Lapua, both of which have been out to 1,000. The .300WM was manageable but pretty unpleasant. I put a muzzle brake on it and now it's actually quite fun to shoot. Honestly, the .338 was pretty...

Reminder - Nappanee Show Is Back Oct. 20th !!!!

Excited for this show. I was so disappointed they weren't able to have the last one...

      Suppressor Disassembly

So in an effort to drive the inner baffle stack out with a wooden dowel rod and liberal applications of penetrating oil, I, like a true bubba, knocked the suppressor over so it fell to the concrete floor from about 12" high. And of course it landed directly on the edge of the open end of the...

Crown Point Gun and Knife Show March 3rd & 4th 2018

I met Fox River at the Valpo show. Very nice people and decent prices on their ammo. I picked up some .380.

      Suppressor Disassembly

Thank you all for your tips. I'd rather not send it to Thompson. It took 13 months for me to get from start to finish, so the thought of letting it out of my sight is physically painful. I asked a buddy and he has some kroil. I'm going to try that and the video Currahee posted tonight and...

      Suppressor Disassembly

It is time for me to fess up since I cannot solve this problem myself. I have a .30 cal, user-serviceable Thompson Machine THIRTY stainless steel suppressor. I have never taken it apart to clean it and now the time has come. Alas, I cannot get it apart. I can get the exit-end cap off, but...

      Best Chronograph

Officially, you can't. It's not designed to work (out of the box) on semi-autos without a rail. I'm in the "scribbles on the back of a napkin" phase of designing a wooden mounting platform for the magentospeed chrono and something of a rest for the muzzle of a pistol to sit on which aligns...

      Best Chronograph

The Magnetospeed is worth every penny over an optical chrono. I've had my optical out exactly one time since getting the Magnetospeed and it was so much more effort to set up and it wasn't even registering all my shots. I can't speak to how accurate the Magnetospeeds are, but they are so much...

      VALPO GUN & KNIFE SHOW THIS WEEKEND – Feb. 17 & 18

Yeah, I didn’t see any reloading components priced to sell (at least in my budget). I couldn’t find any .224 bullets. The show was pretty busy, but we didn’t think it was unbearable. Not as unbearable as the room temperature cofffee that was a dollar. Overall it was pretty good. Left with some...

      Two shows in Shipshewana?

Well, this is very strange. But also a nice surprise as I was planning on going to one of them tomorrow. Going to two shows means I can buy twice as much, right? I am sure my wife will see it the same way...

      SecureIt Intelligent Firearm Storage

I think they claim it is “as safe” as a normal safe, not more safe.
