Instead of looking for a modern firearm in the 6.5x55 caliber why not look for another surplus in that caliber??? That's why I'm looking for a surplus Swedish Mauser instead of a modern rifle.

I've been watching nearly every day for a 6.5 Swede Mauser to show up in the classified. I used one of a friends while in South Africa hunting and fell in love with it and the round. Low recoil, easy on the ears, and lethal at distance.
