i know red ghost usually has some j-frames, air weights, steel frame and ruger lcr etc, etc, but for shotguns i would probably go to rajos, buck and jakes, or *gasp* gander mountain for a wider selection he just needs to do some shopping around and make sure he gets it in 357mag so he can run...- Kingrat

red brush is really nice, but you need a membership to go or you need a member to go with you, the only public range i can think of is strictly shooting and i dont particularly like it as far as gun stores, what kind of stuff is he looking for? does he know what kind of gun he wants? you can...- Kingrat

What's the best caliber?
fmj vs fmj (like the military must use) i would take 45acp (wouldnt .50gi be even better?) hands down over 9mm for stopping power, with modern defense rounds and +p 9mm does just fine and gives you extra capacity- Kingrat
