Ditto the 96 Centurion - traded one in and don't remember now what I traded for but that .40 Centurion was extremely accurate and kept getting better. That the one I miss.
Since you mention she is smaller, make sure she handles the gun first and can operate the slide if a semi-auto is chosen. I think a 4" S&W K frame .38 would be a good choice. If she does want a semi-auto, also keep in mind that smaller guns like .380's are often blowback and have heavy springs...
I wasn't too keen on the looks of the rail either. I'd like to see Beretta come out with a 92 Centurion or Compact with no recurved trigger guard and dovetailed front sight.
Price paid was $625 + tax locally. I could have ordered online from KY for $611. But figuring shipping and transfer, I think it was a good deal.
I'm going to put a 92D spring in it and I may put Hogues on it. Interestingly, the Beretta website says their .22 conversion kit won't fit it, but...
