Why all the hate on .40

I like .40 S&W over 9 mm just because of the energy gain with 165 gr. HP's. .45 Auto or 9 mm 124 gr. HP's don't produce this energy. I can still get enough shots off in my 4" M&P 2.0 compact .40 accurately at 15 yards to be effective. They ruled the .40 out because the FBI switched back to 9...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

I get quite a bit of bulk Hornady bullets from Midsouth. They have good prices. I think most state ranges have a problem with instituting a policy at the various ranges on left brass and personally shot brass. I would like to see them take a total hands-off policy on ALL brass at the range and...

      win 94 30-30 shooting high

I always checked my band tensions on my stock and barrel. Too much will cause binding with the barrel heat and vibration.

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

IN DNR, "Don't pick up that brass! It's on the ground it's ours!!!" Me, "But it's what I shot just now."

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

Most clubs don't care what happens to the left brass. That's why I would rejoin one.

      Strange colored casings

Those look like steel .223 cases. the others could be aluminum if the magnet doesn't stick to them. I wouldn't try to reload anything that isn't brass. Some steel case 9 mm cases are plated with brass and WILL go into a resizing die, but they can get stuck. The headstamp on those are OZK, just...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

I don't pick up any brass I don't reload. I lose brass at the range and like to supplement my count when I can.

I always was dead on with 170 gr. flat points at 100 yards with the elevation ramp in the 3rd notch from the bottom. 3-4 inch group. Can't ask much from an old 94. LOL.

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

As I stated before, if the DNR is looking for range maintenance money. They need to charge a daily fee for shooters. Making money from spent brass and steel casings that was never theirs, is theft to me.

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

I know they say you can't be safe enough at the range, but my God does the DNR take it to anal extremes! It is just not even fun being at those ranges! Having the range officers make snide comments to you when they visit your stations gets old really quick. I am partially disabled, and they...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

They don't pick any brass up at Jasper-Pulaski. I was there 2 days in one week before and the same brass was imbedded in the gravel. They are just pricks because they are told to be. DNR has got some lame employees. john at Kingsbury is the worst. I just about decked that ass one day for...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

Howard Township Conservation Club in Niles, MI was the best range I belonged to. They gave you the combination to get on the property and had concrete benches set up for the 100m and 200m ranges. They had 15m and 50m pistol and rimfire bunkers also. Nice trap stations also. Brass was leave it or...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

Have you ever been to Jasper-Pulaski? They don't police any of their brass there and have a few gestapo range officers who watch you pick it up. Then they jump your ass for picking up your brass! That place could be nice, but cordial staffing and lack of infrastructure is holding it back. I say...

Picking up Range Brass a No-No?

I'm done shooting at DNR ranges. Too many cocky young R/O's think the brass you paid for belongs to the state. We pay excise on our ammunition and the state is just plain greedy! Indiana's coffers are overflowing. If they want an entrance fee per shooting day, I will gladly divvy up $5 a day if...
