I've got plenty of rifles, but no AR15s. If someone can loan my nephew one, I'd appreciate it. He seems pretty serious about the Army and I'd like for him to be able to learn on the platform that will matter in his life. Slim's offer was generous, but I didn't see it until a few days ago. I...
It's looking about 50 degrees too warm, but we shall persevere.
Slim, I appreciate the offer but I did not see until just a few days ago. If you or anyone can spare an AR, I'll gladly feed it. I bought a case of Wolf just for this weekend. I think the kid is pretty serious about the Army. I'm...
I signed my nephew and I up this afternoon. He's looking to join the Army after graduating. I either need to buy an AR and more 5.56 ammo or let him shoot my Mini14 while I rock a Garand.
Decisions, decisions...
I'll likely use the same .243 Remington 700 BDL that I use for deer hunting in the summer. If I think there might be a chance encounter with some nazi deer, I'll grab one of my Garands.
Kershaw's CQC-8K is not spring assisted, but does have the wave design. It should be very fast in a fight, but can also be opened like a regular folder. It's less likely to make campus people think you have a "switchblade". It retails around $30.

I am a truck driver, so I'm sure I'm biased. But, I think both have their place. There's already been a lot of talk about HAM, and I will leave that to those who know more than I.
CBs don't have to be expensive. The Uniden Pro510XL's mentioned earlier are a great choice for someone that doesn't...
I found a video of a guy stippling the front of the grip on a 1911, it definitely looks like something that requires a feel for what you're doing. I've got a little 6061-T6 lying around that I'll experiment on. But I'm thinking some kind of textured paint will probably get the nod. It's the...
I picked up a Kershaw Knockout (Knockout |* Kershaw Knives) at my local pawn shop last week. It was in nearly pristine condition and I got a pretty good deal on it. I like almost everything about the knife, except how gosh darn slick the scales are. The scales are painted 6061-T6 aluminum and...
I certainly won't say the "new & improved" GBs are match grade, but I have used them to shoot several rifleman scores. I've had no reliability concerns with them either.
College mall in Bloomington is a Simon mall. No signs, and I've never been bothered while OCing. I have had some good discussions with a few shop workers though.
