Any sword fans? European or Asian style?

Around what time were you at IU? Definitely try a rapier if you get a chance. A well balanced one will almost move itself. Did the stage fighters add some drama? We didn't have any of those, but we did have some guys who did fencing in the round with the SCA. They were interesting.

Nice. I don't think I ever fenced anyone from the central Illinois area. I did one tournament in Chicago once. I was mostly fencing from '94 to 97 at Ball State. We competed mostly in Indiana. IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame and such. I fenced for a while in Louisville around 2003-2004. I've...

A week of forging in the SC heat and humidity.

Awesome shop, and great work. The detail on the leaves are great. I've got an aso, but I've never had a chance to setup a forge. Is a propane forge that much warmer than a coal forge?

Heh. I always viewed viewed saberists like Keith Moon from the Who. Crazy. :) I never understood the right-of-way in sabre... Though I did place third in a sabre tournament at Ball State once simply by thrusting. I was mostly epee and foil.

      Budget Fixed Blade

I wasn't aware of Mora or Condor. Both look good for the money.

Any sword fans? European or Asian style?

Any sword fans out there? I did competitive European fencing in college, and I keep a sword by the bedside beside the pistol. I've got two katana, but I've recently been eyeing a rapier and saber for more cut and thrust action. 500784 - Musketeer Rapier - $238.50 Cold Steel 1917 Saber ...

      Best folder under $80

Nice! I've never heard of the Mantis Vuja De FYI. But a balisong karambit sounds interesting.

      Best of both Worlds

Heh, I'm a firm believer in always having a blade handy. Got to love the best of both worlds. Awesome pics.

Ditto on the Talwar. I've carried one for over a year. It rides in the pocket really well, and I like that you can catch the opener on your pocket to open the knife on the draw. It's also got an awesome lock.

Opinions on the Taurus 24/7 G2?

All, Thanks for the replies. From what I'm reading here and other places it seems that the 24/7 is a gamble on whether or not it will have issues. I'm left handed, and it's got good ambi controls for the price, but I think I'm going to pass on it. I had a snubnose Taurus .357 revolver years ago...

Opinions on the Taurus 24/7 G2?

Any opinions on the Taurus 24/7 G2? I'm considering buying one in 9mm with the 3.5" barrel. I understand it's not a high end pistol, but I'm wondering about it's quality and dependability. I've read a positive review that Trevlan posted from 2011, and wanted to see if anyone else has something...
