What is your longest serving CCW handgun ?

My EDC for the past 8 years has been this Kimber Ultra 45ACP.

This Mauser thing is getting out of hand.

I feel your pain, I only have 6 Mauser variants in my safe so far and a Spandau GEW98 (sporter) on lay a way. But there's plenty of room for more.

      (Sears) Ranger 101.16

I hope the firing pin solves the issue. Mine would misload about 99% of the time when I first got it, so I replaced the lifter spring and guide spring. It's not flawless and still misloads about 3 or 4% of the time, but is a huge improvement and I can live with that for now.

      (Sears) Ranger 101.16

Yes, that confused me a bit at first. But after a little more reading I realized it's supposed to do that.

      (Sears) Ranger 101.16

Picked up a Ranger 101.16 a few weeks ago it shoots 22 S,L,&LR. I've read several articles on it, but the actual history of these rifles is pretty much speculation and very little fact. This is what IS known, it's variation of the model 87 made by Savage/Stevens sometime between 1940-41 as a...

Anyone planning a purchase with their tax refund?

Thanks, I just happened on to it at Two Bear Arms gun shop near Attwood a few weeks ago. I've wanted one for years, and the shop owner made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

      Gun Shop Bull

About 15 years ago I had one of the counter guys at H&H (now Freedom) in FT Wayne tell me that using the slide release to drop the slide on an empty chamber would make a semi-auto pistol go full-auto. I'm still waiting for my 1911 to go full-auto.

I already spent some of it, I just couldn't pass up this Egyptian FN49.

      Straw purchase?

About 2 months ago I bought a rifle from a FT. Wayne shop, I filled out the 4473 and when my wife pulled our debit card out of her purse (I didn't have mine with me) he said we can't do that anymore. I asked why not? He told us that the regulations regarding straw purchases were so vague that...

      Sporterized Remington 1903A3

Thank you all for your helpful comments and opinions, I have decided to leave the rifle as is. I did some research on the Redfield scope that is mounted on it. Apparently Redfield removed the words (1"tube) from the side of the adjustment turrets on all their scopes in 1966. This Redfield has...

      Sporterized Remington 1903A3

I found this sporterized Remington 1903-A3 on the used rack at a shop in FT Wayne yesterday. The rear sight, front barrel band and cap are missing and the receiver has been drilled and tapped for the front scope base, but other than that the metal is intact and rust free. I haven't decided if I...

Most amount of guns you have bought in a week/month?

I buy between 0 to 3 a year, and I think I may have bought 2 in one day at a gun show about 30 years ago. But I also cull the heard occasionally and get rid of the ones I just don't shoot, or the "why did I buy this in the first place guns".
