I have one that was described by the maker as G10 and it has not been detected with handheld or walk through detectors. Best way to find out is a "trial run" when you don't really care about being denied entry if it sets off a detector. Obviously, I am referring to a trial run in a location...
Correct. Some of the ones marketed as "non-metallic" will still set off the metal detector. Fortunately the ones I carry have passed multiple venues with no detection :):
You will definitely need the church leaders on board, and at some point you will want to have the congregation on board. One way to is to approach "security" training as just one piece of the churches overall safety and preparedness training. Maybe start out with first aid/aed training, then add...
In my opinion, no. Firearms training is only one piece of church security, and not even one all churches will agree to.
I have worked with churches who take security & training very seriously. They have multiple armed team members, comms, cameras, trauma first aid kits, sop's, emergency & ecav...
I have not had a chance to test this, but a guy that I know who works with an organization called Forever Your Overwatch Foundation recommends these.

"... I no longer go to classes expecting to gain a ton of new stuff. For the most part, I go in hoping to gain one or two “nuggets” that will improve what I have already heard from others, or discovered through pure, dumb luck."
Very important! At some point you should no longer be getting...
My EDC folder is also a back up weapon, so it's without serrations for me. It's a deal breaker for me to buy, but I do have partially serrated folders that were gifts.
A small portion will cover use of a flashlight. However, the majority of the class is devoted to working in movement in lighted and/or semi-lighted structures.
If there is enough interest, we will do a follow up and can add more low light material.
