      First encounter with Para..?

I have a Para Expert SS and love it. Mine functions fantastic right out of the box.

      Looking for a pocket-carry gun

I would suggest you try a Kel Tec PF9. Not only is it reasonable for pocket carry, but you can get the after market clip for IWB carry in a pinch.

      Ruger 10/22 vs Remington 597

10/22 can grow with your needs . I love cz452' s too, though.

      Choose one and explain: Ithaca 37 - Mossberg 500 - Remington 870

I really love the 870 and the aftermarket options. the one downside, imho, is the slide release. i like the way the 500 is better.

      WTB 10/22 Receiver

I would be ok with a non-Ruger made (Kidd, etc.) receiver if the price is right. Thanks!

      WTB 10/22 Receiver

22 LR I have at least one of all of the other parts LOL... I may as well put one together. I don't need anything high end for target; this would be a plinking gun. SW Indiana would be preferred.

      WTS: Remington 870

What sort of barrel is on that?

      AR vs AK

I love both equally... kind of like kids! but it depends on what you are looking to use it for. If you are punching holes in paper, either is great. If you are looking to swap parts out all the time, go with an AR. Smaller varmits, I think AR has better longer range accuracy, so would be a...

      .22 target

I still love my 452, but you honestly can't go wrong with a 10/22 either. You can always keep tweaking it as your budget allows.

      New .223 Rifle?

I really don't think you can go wrong with either the Savage or Rem. I honestly believe that you are to the point of personal preference. What about a father son shopping trip to pick it out? Firearms are family heirlooms in my family and what better memory than your son buying you a rifle...

      .22 target

I have the CZ 452 with the 16" threaded barrel (with appropriate adapter obviously) and I would be hard pressed to shoot more accurately with any gun. It is amazing. CZ puts a great machine together, not to mention they look great.

      Marlin Lever Action .357

If you already have a .357 handgun and not a .44 , that may narrow it down. I agree with those that say accuracy will outweigh power in this category.
