      Thompson Center Arms sold

Looks like Wabash will be the new HQ's. Hope they move the entire company to Indiana.

That would be awesome but unlikely. We do have vacant factory space availible at several locations. Plenty of skilled trades living in the local area. However, their Board of Directors will probably move the company to Illinois.

      North to Alaska 2024

I fly from Indy to Salt Lake on 13 May. Start the road trip on 14 May. This trip will prep me for a future drive up to Alaska from Indiana.

Have not looked into it. I've fired flares in the past and don't see them being very effective for self protection. In Canada, I will stick with bear spray. The Mounties get fussy if you bring anything more threatening than a Swiss Army knife.

      North to Alaska 2024

Picked out three books for the trip. Enos to read on the flights. Adams for when I'm in Alaska. Kafka for when I can't sleep. The first cabin building trip was in 2017. Have a fond memory of reading the complete Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy during those six weeks. Since then, I read most...

      Shotgun Show and Tell

Mossberg 500 set up for bear defense. It's stays at my cabin in Alaska. Started out as a receiver only. Bought the rest of the parts on Ebay, gun shops, gun shows and Brian's Surplus. Hard to see, but it has an extended tab safety and fiber optic front sight. Put 100 rounds of slugs and buckshot...

I despise the F-111 with the furry of a thousand rabid frothing weasels. That rage came after working on J-79 engines on F-4s and TF-34s on A-10s. The TF-30 on the F-111 was engineered by autistic Germans with a passion for complexity. They were unreliable, prone to compressor stalls and...

Smith and Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 Safety Lever

No built in rear sight. Mine is an older Holosun, that you have to remove the sight to change the battery. It is mounted to a plate that replaced the pistol's rear sight. The sight and plate came with the pistol. I really like it for my older eyes. Palmetto State Armory has sales on pistol...

Smith and Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 Safety Lever

Installed a new taller front sight and new battery in the Holosun. Shoots great. Feels much better than a Glock.

      North to Alaska 2024

No firearms will be carried on this trip. I know that sounds insane, but the Canadian government has gone into full oppression mode in regards to firearms and personal liberty. To get approval to travel with a firearm through Canada requires permission from the state. That process can be done...

      North to Alaska 2024

In a few weeks, I will be making my annual trip to Alaska. This trip will be different though. Instead of flying, I will be driving up the Alaska Highway. The plan is to fly out to Salt Lake, Utah and meet a friend who is driving up. From there, we will head to Great Falls, Montana, then north...

      HAVE YOU EVER?

Yep. If I had more dollars than I did sense, the collection would have an StG 57, 03A3 Springfield and 45-70 trapdoor.

      Walking?

Used to commute by bicycle. Twenty four miles between home and work. Later, when I no longer did the bike commute, I left a spare bike at work for "short trips" between facilities. Always had it in the back of my mind that if I needed to, I could use it for getting home.

I remember the tornado that wiped out Xenia. I was just a kid in Kettering and remember the angry green low clouds when the tornado first hit locally. It then built up strength and hit Xenia. Dad ended up working in Xenia for three days, helping with the initial recovery.
