My vote is to support the LGS over Walmart anytime. Most gun shops are going to be about 10% higher than Walmart. The difference is that you get support and a real person instead of a 18YO kid that has no interest/experience with the AR15 platform.

I think the carbine kit uses the same lower for pistol and carbine. The only thing I can think of is that carbine kit is somehow tweaking the lower and putting it in a bind. the neos lower is kinda flimsy. Great gun though. Beretta has great support. I agree you should give them a call.
