      Too bad. It could have been a nice deal - never had a mod 70 but plenty of others, all good.

      How much was your first handgun?

      My first handgun was a Bauer .25acp for which I paid $90. I can tell you that "you get what you pay for" is true in that the little *&^% blew up on me. Quality counts and when a life depends on it a little extra cash up front goes a long way.

      .22 for target shooting

      Can't go wrong with a Ruger or Buckmark but if you want to spend some more cash the Beretta 87 is one fine piece of work.

      Favorite subsonic .22lr ammo?

      I use CCI mini-mags out of a pistol with the outback II. Short barrel keeps it under speed of sound and suppresses nicely.
