      Best 25-30+ Round .22/.22mag pistol

A great-uncle died and left some money to his blood relations. If his niece or nephew had died it went to their kid etc. Spouses could not inherit! I just received the check and wife said buy what I want so I ordered a Les Bear and have a few hundred left and would like one of the 25-30+...

      Where were you in ‘63??

It isn't a 4 screw so I would think it was a Mexican done gun. Unless it is a trick of the camera the lines down the top of the barrel looks like it is not straight. It still is a very nice engraving job. You can always get a Colt letter.

Les Baer, Ed Born, Wilson Combat or other

Looking to spend a dollar or two on a custom 1911 Government .45 ACP. I am looking a Les Baer though a Ed Brown looks better in fit and finish. Wilson has turned into a high dollar prediction gun. I know there are a few good custom gunsmiths out there building 1911's but Baer and Brown I have...

Talk me into a 45-70 single shot.....

I shoot 536 gr postals in my .45-70 single shoots and 405 gr in the custom Marlin lever gun. My trapdoors all shoot and hit at a 1000 yards if I can see the target. I like 100-400 yards as I can see targets using the sights put on the guns in the 1870-80's. Full case of FFg is softer on the...

Talk me into a 45-70 single shot.....

Posted above on .45-70 rifles I own and shoot but if I could only have one it would be a Browning High Wall converted from a .40-65 to a .38-55. The .38-55 will do as good as the .45-70 to 500 yards. It shoots much softer on your shoulder. A 100 round .45-70 will leave you shoulder black and...

Talk me into a 45-70 single shot.....

I own several different ones, Sharps, High Walls, Rolling Blocks, and Trapdoors. My like is the Trapdoor, High Wall, Rolling Block, and then the Sharps. Carbines are easy to carry hunting but hurt from both ends when fired. The Trapdoor will have the most history for the USA but the Rolling...

      Staccato CS

I carried a 10 mm STI 6" barreled 2011 as my last 1911 type when Artheritis hit my hands. Extended mag gave me 21 rounds of 10 mm. Build and finish was great.

      2024 Flint vs Cap thread

I use a Kibler SMR in .45 and have not lost a single deer. You pay for the kit but get one of the best Flintlock locks made. I don't see any different shooting either caps or flint as both have their small things you need to do to shoot good. Right now Kibler has 3 rifle kits in most calibers...

      Weapon retention and/or grappling skills

It is much more intense and you learn some moves that you are not shown in the states or maybe not shown at all now. I was shown a move to stop someone grabbing your gun that breaks the elbow and dislocates the shoulder in one flowing move.
