Yes it it a state law. How do some not know this. It's state law! I swear to God it is!
And not one single part of that comes even remotely close to the topic your claim was about...lying to a cop pulling security duty at a mall.So you think I'm joking??? You can be hit with a class A or B misdemeanor. Had to search the ic but here it is..
IC 35-44.1-2-3
I'm pretty sure he'll be okay. He can always just check with one of his coworkers.Don't laugh about something if you don't know, research or find out the hard way.
There's a pretty big difference between false informing/false reporting and lying to police. The IC you quoted has specific instances where you could be convicted, but nothing in there covers general lying. So you think I'm joking??? You can be hit with a class A or B misdemeanor. Now that's funny. Hey @Frank_N_Stein , I have two questions...Don't laugh about something if you don't know, research or find out the hard way.
Apparently you didn't read the part about a cop that is working private security can't act or perform law enforcement duties. And not one single part of that comes even remotely close to the topic your claim was about...lying to a cop pulling security duty at a mall.
So the "code" should be rewritten because you don't know what false reporting or informing means? There's a pretty big difference between false informing/false reporting and lying to police. The IC you quoted has specific instances where you could be convicted, but nothing in there covers general lying.
Now that's funny. Hey @Frank_N_Stein , I have two questions...
1. In your police career, how many times have you caught someone flat out lying to you?
2. How many times did you charge them with lying to police?
Exactly.as far as I know, you can lie to PoPo but not to a Feeb.
No. You apparently don't know what it means. Don't let that stop you though. So the "code" should be rewritten because you don't know what false reporting or informing means?
There is nothing that says a cop HAS TO charge some, but they do when they want to.
I met Dick Marcinko at that mall. Scottsdale, not the Prancer one.I remember that place from the 80s. I always thought it was a boring place to go...about like the so called mall that was in laport that Prancer movie was film at.
I have to admit I would have been pretty excited to meet him.I met Dick Marcinko at that mall. Scottsdale, not the Prancer one.
I was. I am typically not the fan boy type, but it was cool.I have to admit I would have been pretty excited to meet him.
Correct. In Indiana, there is no crime of "lying to police"- as stated there are many elements to "false reporting" and it is not simply a "lying to police" statute. First and foremost, there's that "commission of a crime" element. I never recommend that anyone lie (on general principle), but if a police officer comes up to you in a mall and asks if you are carrying a gun, what's the "commission of a crime" part that could lead to false informing? There's a pretty big difference between false informing/false reporting and lying to police. The IC you quoted has specific instances where you could be convicted, but nothing in there covers general lying.
