There would have to be a law saying I have to be on my own property using my own tools to prevent that. But unless I work there, I don't know if they'd let me. Probably insurance reasons blah blah
I took that into account already. I imagine it will still be cheaper to build 2-3 suppressor designs even with the tax on each one than to pay for just one from a manufacturer. I still haven't received an answer as to the cost of building one myself, so this is all just speculation right now.
menzzer37, I Googled YHM's cans and they're $671, that's quite a difference from the $400 you posted. I had high hopes for that one after reading your post! The 45Osprey is also about $850. Neither of them fall within my price range.
My cousin has one of these in satin, very nice gun. He wiped out on the highway on his Harley and the gun slid across the pavement, got ran over by a semi, and only suffers some minor marring on the corners of the slide. The frame actually held up better than the steel, but all in all it still...
Yes, I know about 1911's and boosters, I was just researching designs for one coincidentally. I've been toying with the idea of a locking lever for the slide as well so I can lock the breech for extra sound reduction and manual cycling, but that won't damage a Neilsen device will it?. Thanks...
You can't buy a Glock 17c and get a switch for it? Or does that fall under some laws, or maybe the conversion isn't very available?
[EDIT]: After a quick Googling, I came to the conclusion that I was not looking for (but it seems to be the one and only conclusion to be had!). It is not legal to...
Well after reading that, I think I've made up my mind... Buy my first one when the time comes, and use it to study and build my additions, after I invest in a lathe and drill press! Thanks for the quick and helpful replies, guys!
[EDIT]: I suppose this brings up another question for the...
I've been interested for some time now in a suppressor for my 1911. I have all the CAD knowledge that I need to design one, and I have a friend who works at a machine shop that can have the parts made for me. Would it be worth it to design and have one built for me? My CAD program tells me that...
Only firearm I ever had problems with dry firing was a JCPenny pump action 12GA. Pulled trigger to drop the hammer on an empty chamber, and down the barrel slid the firing pin haha.
Congrats! I wish I had my own, but until then I'll have to eyeball my dad's set! Yes, I know that sounded really messed up, but I'm sure you'd all love to see my dad's pair, too!
Probably not around here... yet! I personally think it's a terrible (and incredibly ugly) thing to do to a 1911... but an interesting idea regardless of the atrocity that has been done to such a classic.
That is definitely one of the sexiest 1911's I've ever seen! I'm not normally a fan of compensators, but that's a great match for that handgun. What color is that, by the way?
My dad has two, consecutive serial numbers too. I probably shouldn't have told you, because he'll never come off of those! They are truly beautiful pieces though, I can only hope they are passed down to me when the time comes.
