Followup to the July meeting Thank you for the warm welcometo this month's meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to next month's meeting. On that note, I have access to a FREE private meeting space in Fountain Square Mall (right downtown on the Courthouse Square) and I confirmed...

      Glock shortage

I hunted for weeks! Starting with the January 1500, I finally found a NIB Glock 26 Gen3 on GunBroker.com, where I paid $600. Since I paid $500 for my NIB Glock 17 a couple years ago, I thought I got the bad end of the deal. Then, I saw that the next sale that I was watching ended up at $700...

How much was your first handgun?

Glock 17 $500 I got my first handgun at the 1500 from 21st Century Firearms (thanks Jahred!) back in in 2010. $503 out the door. G17 Gen3 (can't stand the Gen4 grip) NIB. I wish I could find that price now!

Thanks for the info. It doesn't make me any more inclined to make the trip. Good thing my buddy offered to drive! :D Hopefully a G26 Gen3 will be < $600!

I only want a Glock 26. Shouldn't be too hard right? I've only been to the 1500 once before, so I don't know the "market trends".

Hey Mr. Moderator Sir, has anyone tallied these? Counting up 554 pages of thumbs up and down doesn't really appeal to me. Where can I get the cliff notes?

Why do I want to go?

I want to go because I can't find a Glock 26 locally that will ship before the next presidential election. Stupid supply and demand.

Never been-can you do face to face sales?

IC 35-74-2 Always go straight to the source: 1) you can take a purchase home. 2) you can take it to a repair shop. 3) you can take it when you move to a new location. That's how I read it. YMMV. P.S. Everyone should bookmark or memorize IC 35-47-2. I went the geeky route: I...

What's the entrance fee for the 1500?

The entrance fee is CODB (cost of doing business). That just means I have to save at least $15 more on whatever I buy. It can be done.

      Question about taking a gun

Kudos to OP for asking. I wish more people cared what laws they might cross. *cough* Obama *cough*

Prepare To Pay More For Using Your Plastic

Just to clarify: Debit card transactions with a PIN go through the ATM network. Debit card transactions with a sig (not Sig Sauer: don't get excited) go through the CC network. Typically, the merchant gets charged a fee for both, but the PIN transaction is WAAAY cheaper. Also, EBT...

      NFA from a beginner's perspective

Great report. Thanks for the thorough write-up. I appreciate knowing as much as I can about a process before I begin. I'm interested in NFA in general, but specifically in a suppressor, though the fees make it unrealistic for a while yet. Can someone save me the tedious search and tell me...

How old were you when you got your first....

16 years old 16 years old, sophomore in high school: had to start paying for my own clothes and car. I hate being without work (paid or not)! God gave Man work even before the Fall. That's an important detail that is easy to forget. Men without work get into trouble. That's something the...
