I was taught to clean off that factory grease, first thing before firing a new gun. I've always done just that while wondering why they grease em up just for me to wipe them clean. Think I'll give it a try.

You can go nuts looking for a specific model gun at a show. Best to call around and find one at a gun shop. You definately want to know what is worth before you shop, lots of people pay too much because they don't know any better. 308 is a great hunting rifle.
