      Make sure you talk to several people at archery shops and weigh out their info. It helped me to make the best decision and not break the bank. My son was 14 at the time I think. Good luck.

The first fall season out he had an 8 point 40 yds away furious that we were in his back yard, but he refused to take a frontal shot, just as they had instructed him in class.       I just got done researching a Marlin XL7 in a .270. That is my final choice now. It had a really good review and the price was very good. (cheaperthandirt.com had the XL7C for $285, plus shipping and FFL charges. It was cheaper than the Remington 700 or Savage 110. Check it out.

      I eat an apple on the drive there and then almonds and cranberries. Light on the water so I don't have to take a leak.

      Just don't let the dog get in on the action. He'll be barking up a storm and trying to get the deer and turkey on the screen. Never happened until we got the LCD. Hilarious! Sounds like you have a future hunting partner for many years to come. :)
