I believe that law is only in effect during the KY State Fair. At all other times legal carry is permitted. I could be wrong about the law, but they have gun shows at the fair grounds all the time, so you would have to take a gun to a gun show, right?
I have the xDm 45 3.8 as well. It is awesome! Shoots smooth and is very accurate. It has earned the spot as my EDC. I cannot say enough great things about it. I really like the xtension of the longer mag to make a full size grip if I want it. I am sure you will love it!
I am similar to your body type and I carry a Springfield xDm 45 3.8 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. It is super comfortable and it would be easy to forget you're even wearing it. Crossbreed by far makes the best IWB holsters in my opinion. I do prefer to carry concealed; I like to think I have the...
@eldirector....you said "They require both training and a photo for the permit in order to exercise their rights." Ohio recognizes Arizona's CCW and there is not a picture required on an AZ permit.
I own the xDm 45 3.8 and love it. It is very accurate and feels awesome in my hand. On the compact version you have a grip xtension with a full size 12rd mag or the standard 9rd mag. The trigger feel is great and breaks just the way I like it. This is my choice for my EDC in a crossbreed...
You can't go wrong with the Smoky Mountains....miles of trails and awesome scenery! My favorite trail is the hike down Forney Creek from Clingman's Dome. The AT(Appalachian Trail) also splits the national park in two. Not many loops to hike but plenty of hiker shuttles are available around...
I made copies at home on pink paper found at walmart. I then found these self-laminating buisness card holders at the same walmart. Walmart.com: Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches, Business Card Size, 25pk: Office They work well and if/when they wear out, I still keep the original in safe...
Did mine the old fashioned way. Application 01/03. Fingerprinted @ PD and mailed app to ISP on 01/04. Got mine in mail today 02/15. I should've done the L1...hindsight is 20/20.
I'll second the Smoky Mountains. It is surprisingly secluded even though its the most visited National Park. Lots of ups and downs but the scenery is awesome. My favorite trail is Forney Creek. Lots to do around the park also if you only want to hike/camp for a couple of days.
Being from KY I love the Gorge and would recommend it to anyone. There is also the buckeye trail over in Ohio that is close (never hiked any portion of it myself). Buckeye Trail That trail encircles the whole state and would prepare you for a long distance hike like the AT, albeit it is flat...
I have a Garmin eTrex and use it on backpacking trips. Depending on tree coverage or steep terrain it might be hard to get enough satellite coverage to get a clear signal. Garmin used to make an eTrex that had a high-sensitivity antenna; I would recommend that one for a trip in canyon land if...
I am new to the forum as well as Indiana. My job has brought me to the state and some co-workers advised me to check out this site. Great site with loads of information.
