      Level of Training

bradrob This is the problem with only taking one class. There has been alot of discussion in the training world about the dangers of taking one class. The problem is the overconfidence getting you in trouble. I promise you that if you take a Force on Force class, you will realize that Basic...

Training the caveman vs. training the athlete

Ok...Since we are giving OPINIONS, lets hear from someone that has both competitive and FoF experience. Backround. Not LEO, Not Military, BS in Criminal Justice because i was going after a LEO career, only 3 years of competitive shooting, B class USPSA in production and limited(in my first...

Recommend me a backpack that's not a piece of CRAP!!!!!

If you are truly want a pack that can last while carrying 50-60lbs...save your pennies and get a Mystery ranch or Kifaru. Did a 8 day hike in Colorado Elk hunt with 70lbs. No issues through some of the toughest conditions I've every been in. Your back and legs will thank you. It was a Nice 6500 btw.

      What exactly is force-on-force training?

Here's my short answer.... It is the most humbling, eye opening training a gun owner will experience. Don't be that gun owner that feels that you are safe because you carry a gun. I promise you are not.

Training the caveman vs. training the athlete

To me it comes down to people that put the work in and the people that don't. One takes more work to perfect than the other. The "caveman" techniques are simple and reliable. The "athlete" techniques are efficient and fast. I look at the way you broke down the two camps. I use techniques...

When and how do you choose your training?

It's a tall order for sure. I did carbine 1 with Haley/Avery and ECQC with Craig this year. And you will get a little beat up. I actually do a great deal of physical training just to be ready for these classes. It's great motivation.

When and how do you choose your training?

I personally choose my training by evaluating where I have failed in pressure testing. That being said... My plans for this year include MDOC with Paul Sharp Edged weapon overview with Craig Douglas IAJJ with Cecil Burch Advanced concealed carry with Claude Werner

      Suarez vs. Modern Technique

I have to say that taking my first FoF class this year (ECQC) was a definite eye opener. But i will add that the shooting was a small portion of the training. Learning the mindset, managing unknown contacts, watching for tells, stand up, ground fight, counters and weapons retention is really the...

      Drawing from Ankle Carry

It's nice to have options... But for me ankle carry doesn't work. Having attended ECQC... I see a couple problems for me personally. 1.A loss of mobility 2.Time needed to get the draw. 3.Weapon retention. For ME. A fixed blade at the appendix position works better in the FUT.

James Yeager- You have NO right to your opinion.

For this to be "Science" the results must be repeatable. I assure you that there are other trainers on the same level that disagree with James.
