I should have shot some video from the last stall (14?). It was kinda erie watching the muzzle blast and smoke as the competitors went through the CoF. I appreciated the guy that brought NV without using s light, too. Wish we had communicated a little better so I didn’t blind him by turning...
Yeah well, it was partially selfish... I wanted to shoot and obviously needed the practice . As I heard many times, Aron had a huge impact on a lot of us.
Yeah, I really liked how he ran the Riley matches. That was a pretty significant sacrifice on the part of Aron and his family. We’ll have to figure out how to try to pick that one back up...not sure any of us are that selfless....
Trevor Maloney and Vivian Presslor are continuing PART of Coach’s legacy with the Carry Gun Matches at Parabellum. Next match is this Wednesday (the 24th); I grieve the loss of Aron, too, but this is something that he started and I’d personally like to see it continue.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of glove to shoot with when it’s cold? I have some really thin leather gloves (Cabelas, I think) that work for shooting but don’t keep my hands warm.
Yeah, Allen turned me to the dark side, too. He showed me the 507C GR (probably yours). He did an excellent job on my slide, too. I’m going to run it in the carry gun match tonight, just hoping not to get last.
It’s a goal..... I generally show up with 120+ rounds loaded in mags and I still usually have to take rounds from one mag and add them to another to complete the CoF with the required rounds and Coach has been very patient with me. I LOVE this format and am perfectly happy with how it’s running.
Hated scoring the T-shirts, but enjoyed shooting it. Like the movement in stages 2, 3, and 4, too. Seated was a nice touch, but it would probably be more useful to figure out how to draw safely?
Used to carry my “back up” as primary until an instructor (who shall remain nameless) got in my head about capacity...and responsibility (another subject for another time). I’ve shot my back up vs my “full size” in a standard CoF and seen the light.
I don’t normally carry a back up (meaning a second weapon), but I do have one I very occasionally carry as primary. I wouldn’t mind using it in a standard stage as a back up. I don’t see any need for another division for it. Just an occasional stage requiring a back up and obviously notice...
Some of us actually have “back up guns” that we “occasionally” carry as primary (depending on weather and occasion). Just means wearing a second holster and carrying the back up as intended to me. Am I missing something?
