      Worst gun you ever bought!

      Taurus 709......Out of the box the trigger was better in DA than SA ????? Had to work on the magazine follower and feed lips and even then it will only shoot full power loads. Even CCI blazer brass will jam every other round.

      I'm in the same boat as you in that it is probably the closest one to me. Its not too bad for a small show and last time I went ammo prices were a little better than at the 1500 (unless you wanted .22's) One benefit is there were several local gun shops there so you could shop and compare...

      Advice from Gun Shop Customers: annoying or helpful?

      Recently I was in a shop and was given a speech worthy of a political candidate. The guy did know what he was talking about, but talked to me like I was a noob. VERY ANNOYING! The gunshop owner obviously knew him and drew him away from me. Points for the owner.

      What did you get at the Oct 1500?

      Got a last minute deal on a Bersa Thunder 380. My first 380, not sure I will carry it but it shoots and functions great! May have to look at other Bersa products.

      44mag load for hunting?

      The last few deer I have taken with a .44 have been 185gr jsp's running close to max out of a Super Blackhawk. Groups around 2" at 50 yards benchrested.

      What 30-06 Round do you recommend for Big Game?

      I'm with the Nosler crowd. I use 150gr for deer with great results. I hope to go west for an elk hunt next year and already have some 180gr partitions lined up for the trip.

      My favorite handgun

      Ruger Single Six stainless .22. Whenever I go for a walk in the woods, its always on my side. Accurate, fun, and cheap to shoot.

      Springfield XDs in .45. Gonna sell 2 Taurus guns, A 709 and a PT145 Mil Pro to come up with the funds.

      I use the 158gr swc for target loads in .38 and .357. A little picky on charge loads, but once I found the right charges, they shoot great.
