      2024 turkey

      Someone ask about favorite turkey gun on a previous post. Well, my cheapo Stevens 301, 410 did it again this morning with #9 TSS. 33 yards, & he never moved. That's 4 years running, from 30 to 40 yards a very affective load

      2024 Spring Wild Turkey

      My new favorite is the cheap Stevens 301, single barrel 410. # 9 TSS shot ,& I use a red dot This is the 4th year , 3 shots, 3 birds. Farthest was right at 40 , yards very dead. Gun is light to carry, simple to use

      I think the "old" stand byes, are around for a long time for a reason, they work. 30/06, 300 Win Mag, 9mm ( a little weak) 45 Colt & 45 acp

      Watch out for ticks.

      I talked to the DNR bug lady a couple years ago, she said dogs & cats can get ticks 12 months a year. The ticks live on mice & voles under the snow, dog sticks his nose in mouse nest , Wala, tick on his nose. I have personally removed ticks from dogs 10 months a year. the Britt is now living...
