I too, have the underlying "tug" to belong to a group who get together to hone practical skills, WITHOUT the cowboy antics shown in fail videos. There are strengths found in numbers and those numbers will surely be needed in the next few years.
I'm a 1911 guy...so I'll always have that platform handy. But the two within easy reach are different calibur...one Kimber in .45 and one Delta Elite in 10mm. And I just picked up a Sig P938 which will become a CC.
Transplanted from Clay County many years ago...but in Johnson County for a very long time. Big 2nd amendment supporter, hunter and shooter. Glad to have found this site!
thanks for the input Mr. Swisher. I've taken several levels/courses at TDI, so I have a level of comfort with them. I'll check Fortress out, unless you guys come up with one. I've just recently joined, so I'm still in the "poking around" mode here.
Mike
Has anyone been to TDI in Ohio lately? It looks like his schedule is essentially full through 2013, which seems odd. Perhaps it's the current state of the world?
Are there comparable training venues for active shooter defense closer?
My family doesn't enjoy my expeditions to the hardware store, so I'd likely be alone. I'm about 99% sure that I'd try to engage the attacker. I'm not certain I could live with myself seeing a body count and knowing I ran or hid.
