The GSH18 seemed like a ugly but genuine attempt at building a pistol with fewer moving parts and in theory better reliability. The strike one though does not seem to bear any resemblance to the GSH18
The cutaway reveals an interesting detail wrt the piston which has a centering mechanism. This was not obvious looking at the original link. I also wonder about the purpose of the brass bushing where the bullet interfaces with top of the cartridge.
So I discovered this interesting russian ammo that is used in a silenced pistol by containing all high pressure gases within the cartridge itself. Check it out:
