      Sig Sauer 226 Recommendation

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. I did check out a gun shop today and compared the legion and the mk25 definitely liked the way the legion felt. The attendant said he had a basic 226 but wished he had spent the extra on the legion.

      Sig Sauer 226 Recommendation

Thanks for the insight, I’m likely to get the full size and I’d rather have the da/sa action as well but this is really helpful.

      Sig Sauer 226 Recommendation

Thanks for the insight. I am leaning more towards this or the Tac Ops model, just fearful the Tac Ops will be bulky with the large mags.

      Sig Sauer 226 Recommendation

This is great info, thank you for the feedback. It was my understanding the Legion trigger was a significant difference. The Tac Ops has the mag well and beaver tail which adds some asthetics but was otherwise the same as the others as far as coating and trigger. The Legion was marketed as a...

      Sig Sauer 226 Recommendation

I've been looking at Sig Sauer's website at the various 226 options, shot several basic ones but now looking to buy and torn on which model. Wondering what opinions are out there about them. Its not really going to be an everyday carry gun either. I like the idea of the Tac Ops, but concerned it...

      Lightweight 44mag revolvers...thoughts?

Thanks for the post, I also read another article through Buffalo Bore group. They shared that the type of bear is important. Grizzly being a tougher issue, but a maimed Black bear would leave you alone, which a .357 would satisfy your needs. So I went that route, if in more "dangerous" country...

      Lightweight 44mag revolvers...thoughts?

Well I started a conversation in a previous post about 3" or 4" .357 revolvers. Then a person recommended the .44mag S&W 329PD. I spoke to several owners of that gun and basically for my purposes wouldn't likely need the full 44 mag power. I have a 44 mag its just too heavy for...

Thanks Skullglide, this is helpful. I have seen these online as well, a bit pricey but looks comfortable, reliable and user friendly.

      Lightweight 44mag revolvers...thoughts?

Thanks prescut and roscott for the comments, someone previously mentioned the Buffalo Bore Ammo company, they have some great articles that were interesting. In short the author (who lives and hunts from what I could read grizzlies and down) claimed .357 would keep you alive. I agree that a bear...

      Lightweight 44mag revolvers...thoughts?

A couple of you mentioned the chest rigs, I have seen these in the past, I tried one a few years back and wasn't impressed. Camping John in my other thread recommended this instead for hiking: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q56LMIC/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=ILKDVTRQ6TCZV&colid=9IRW7MMSUW1P&psc=0 Not...
