First time snow geese hunting this weekend.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is a ballpark figure of how much a trip like that costs? I think that would be a blast but don’t have a huge budget for things like that. I hope you can go back again sometime and have better luck!

What are you listening to right now?

I'm listening to George Strait. I love to listen to the old country music. That's really the only kind of country music. All this new stuff shouldn't even be in the country music category! Pretty boy hairdos and skinny jeans should exclude you from calling your music country!

      4x4 or not?

If you don't get a 4x4 the first time there is a big snow you will tell yourself, "Why did I buy a 2 wheel drive?" Also, the resale value of a 4x4 is much better and there will be more people that want to buy it. It's much harder to sell a 2 wheel drive truck.

Help me choose a city in South Central Indiana.

I grew up about 20 minutes from Bedford. It is a nice town and is close to a lot of other places. Bloomington is 30 minutes away for shopping. I now live farther north in Indiana and really like the Greencastle area. I also like Danville Indiana. Danville is close to Indianapolis but not to...

      2018 trail cam pics

I definitely want to get some trail cams! They will really come in handy to get patterns in my hunting locations. Will also help me decide where I want to build a couple of blinds this spring for next falls bow season.

      Fishing

I think it's time to get all the rods out and change all the lines, Oil things up and be ready for the first day that it's warm enough to get the lines wet! I'm ready for warm weather!

      cast iron cookware

I like Lodge cast iron. I would rather buy used pieces even if you have to re-season them. The older stuff is better than the new stuff. If you want to do anything in a dutch oven get the one with the recessed lid so you can put coals in the lid for baking. also make sure the oven has feet. It...

      Camping locations in Indiana

My favorite place to camp is Mounds SRA in Brookville, IN. Their facility is amazing and my kids could ride their bikes all day if they wanted. My wife and I loved it because we could see the kids everywhere they rode. We also love to camp at Spring Mill State park in Mitchell, Indiana. Very...

      Bald eagle in Tippiecanoe Co.

I live in Crawfordsville and last fall I saw two bald eagles flying around the north edge of town. They are huge! They are also one of the most beautiful birds on the planet. It was a very exciting day. I think they had a nest right over Sugar Creek. Amazing!

      Noodling..

I've caught lots of snapping turtles in Indiana and there is no way I would stick my hand in a hole in a muddy river to catch a catfish! That's how people loose fingers! Catching a catfish is much more fun sitting in a lawn chair with a pole baited with chicken live, relaxing and eating a ham...

Best small to medium sized fishing lake in Michigan

I'm going to post on this topic again even though my post was removed for some reason. I have done a lot of research on this because I'm trying to buy land in Michigan to build a fishing cabin for my family vacations. If you want to catch a lot of different varieties of fish Muskegon lake and...

      2018 Deer Season

In a couple of weeks when its warmer I'm going to build a couple of blinds where I hunt so the deer will be used to them when bow season gets here. I like to track their movements in the snow and get a better idea of exactly where to put my blinds. It usually works out really well.

88 year old Hero Saves the Day

Hey guys, I have a quick question? did you do something to make my post go away. I'm not mad I just don't know if I did something wrong. I have been a forum member since 2014 and I have read forum things a lot before but never commented. My wife and I are joining a local gun club and I was just...

      Hello From Crawfordsville!

Thank you everyone! I do have a quick question. I have been on the forum today. It's my day off and I'm just enjoying the day. I read that I have to post 50 times in order to be able to do some things on the forum so I've been finding things today that are interests and making comments. I have...

Your baitcasters, right or left handed?

I'm right handed. Cast with my right hand and crank with my left for both types of rigs. Don't know whats right or what's wrong but seems to catch lots of fish and after 40 years of eating a lot of fish I figure why change now! :) The fish don't seem to complain or say I'm doing it wrong! LOL!

      Hunting Turtles

I use limb lines and use cut up fish for bait. I've heard chicken gizzards work well also and they stay on the hook better than some other baits. Cleaning them can be a chore but if you know what you are doing it's easier. I put them in a wash tub and pour boiling water over them until submerged...

Weekend fishing with cabin for rent ?

Lake Monroe in Bloomington/Brown County is a good place to Crappie fish in the spring. Especially from a boat so you can fish creek channels and breaks. There are places to stay in Brown County.

      Hello From Crawfordsville!

Hi All, I've been a member for 4 years because a friend encouraged me to join but hadn't really been on this forum much. I've hunted my whole life but never been to the shooting range. Now my wife and I are empty nesters and getting into shooting together. I'm pretty excited!
