      I Also had very bad luck with the drill press jig. I bought it from PRI along with an a1 profile 80. It’s not completely ruined but I stopped before it got to that point. Will more than likely spend the coin to buy one of the easy jig kits.

      I guess it depends on what you usually work on? With an ar15 style rifle, I’d say you can’t beat a multi tool wrench. With an ak, id say a press is necessity. With a 1911, definitely a Dremel. “Drop in parts.” Lol.

      Retainer. It appears it must be installed before the front sight/gas block are pinned. The ferrule is the metal cap on the wood part of the handguard right? I think I need one of those too but I can source that after the fact.

      Got most of my stuff coming from ak builder. At least the necessary items to build. It’ll be a mutt but that’s the beauty of an ak. Mostly Romanian/polish parts with the exception of the rear sight block being bulgarian. Anyone know where to source a handguard end cap?
