FINAL UPDATE: Whittaker Guns has had some of its ammo incorrectly marked as hazardous
material for shipping. I would advise you that if you find any marked that way, to let them
know. They arent out to overcharge you......I am very happy with my transactions with them,
conversations,ect...
UPDATE: I found a tool on Amazon that is going to work out fine.
its a takedown tool for a Glock....instead of prying the pin out on the
left side, you push it through from the right....
Thank you VERT for giving me the idea to search this out.
by the way, this tool is $7 on Amazon
UPDATE: Eric from Whittaker has promptly contacted me and tells me that
some of the ammo has probably been mis-marked as hazmat. He will investigate
the issue and then let me know......then Ill let you know. Praise to Whittaker guns.
Great people to work with.

Jay

the forked one or maybe one with a half circle to get under
the head of the pin was in my mind.....
thanks for searching this out......i guess it depends on how tough
the plastic is in relation to how hard it is to pop the pin out.....ive
not had these weapons apart yet.....so i will see...
I own a new Ruger Security 9 and a Ruger LCP in .380. Each of these weapons is
held together with a take-down pin. Im sure you all know that. Im looking for
a custom tool that pries that pin out without marring or scratching the gun.
Im not OK with sticking a screwdriver under the head and...
Ill have to admit, that my interest in guns in general has just recently been
rekindled....but back in the day, when i was in my 20's, i owned and shot
and reloaded at lot of ammo.
But going through websites on whats for sale on the websites, and reading
though posts on what you all are...
I'm wondering if the members have an opinion on whether a factory new handgun
should be oiled and lubed before shooting the first time....
What Would You Do?
I'd welcome the experts input....
thanks
Jay
I remember when I was a kid....back in the 1960's
where i could open up my copy of American Rifleman
or any other shooter magazine and find military surplus
rifles for less than $100....M1 Carbines for $40 bucks......
boy those days have sure gone away haven't they?
