New Marlin vs. New Winchester lever guns

I don't know how obvious it is to be messaged here. I don't think I've ever got one. So... I'm here and curiois. Message me.

New Marlin vs. New Winchester lever guns

Heya Trapper ☺ the site won't let me message you. I wrote and "sent" one but I got shot down because I don't have 50 posts. Being quiet has not paid off in this instance.

Where might you live, if I may ask?

New Marlin vs. New Winchester lever guns

Heya do any of you have any experiences with both (or either brand) winchesters and marlins of the past 5 years or so? In dreamland I've always wanted one of the Uberti Winchesters or a Chiappa Spencer rifle (not that I think of the Spencer as a lever gun in the traditional sense) but my...

      Gun Advocate Organizations.....which one?

The GOA and FPC are the two I feel best about.

Cant decide on a budget 9mm

They're probably below $300 at some places, above $300 at others, but... Canik TP9SF They are excellent.

      Air Rifle

My .22 Hatsan 95 with vortex gas piston is quite enjoyable and will do everything you said you want to do. I got it from either airgun depot or pyramid air.

Trip to the range leads to imprisonment/confiscation

I was at someone's house yesterday and they were watching a show with the guy that used to be on Dark. Angel and NCIS. Not sure the title. Anyway wasn't paying it much attention until this part where the trial evidence video was of the dad leaving an indoor gun range. There was a sign saying...

      Ahhh okay thanks

      Have you ever....

I can't afford one, and couldn't afford the ammo even if I could buy the gun, but the Spencer carbine by Chiappa, or a Winchester by Uberti, or a Sharps by Pedersoli. I'd just love to have one beautiful, old-timey gun. As it is though, I am strictly a quality utilitarian.

Ask this one questions to the lefties at Thanksgiving dinner

What is TDS? I've seen it a few times but never the origin/definition.

Who daily carries a full size?

My edc is a Canik TP9SF in a Tier 1 Concealed appendix holster. AGIS or AEGIS is the holster model. Something like that.

      Bedside Firearm

And that could absolutely be true for them. I don't know. I do not have any electronic-or-otherwise ear protection ready to go, as stated in my previous post. I've chosen flash suppression over sound suppresssion. I was just saying I can understand someone hoping to opt for it in certain...

      Bedside Firearm

Oh as for dead-of-night hearing protection, my thought has always been, given my above-mentioned situation, I'll deal with it if I ever have to pull the trigger. All the literature says the indoor gunfire is so disorienting I figure okay let the intruder be disoriented. Down that hallway, unlike...

      Bedside Firearm

Since this is truly just bedside, not overall home defense, my edc Canik tp9sf is in a... Ummm... "Low ready bedside" spot, hidden to someone in the room but right where my right hand hits it given my fav sleeping position. That'd be the obvious choice for the previously mentioned "someone just...

      Bedside Firearm

I would think it's still situationally dependant for the people who listed electronic hearing protection. If the intruder just smashed their bedroom window open 3 feet from where they're sleeping, no ears and eyes. If it's the famed mysterious bump in the night from downstairs or down the...

      Bedside Firearm

Wow I've never seen this type... Heck, not even sure what you call them. Locking wall mounts? More information or at least the brand name will be appreciated.
