I have heard Brad Stevens speak.....he will not be going to IU anytime soon...Why do you think people will want to get rid of Crean....The guy can recruit and gets the fans involved...as long he he keeps quality bench coaches to help with game management, they will be fine

Both of these calibers will fill the needs you set out...the .308 wins because ammo is cheaper by far...more options too...and I too prefer the short action compared to the long action .270 as well.:twocents:
Depending on how much you shoot is key...if you don't shoot a lot, you also have to factor the cost of all the equipment into yor cost per round....shoot a lot:lower cost per round....shoot a little;higher cost per round and it may be cheaper to buy factory ammo...also how much do you factor in...
When I went for the first time, after a lot of research and testing, I opted for 300 win mag....I have no regrets and the 300 win is suitable for all game in North American incuding bear...has outstanding ballistics...is readily available from all the major rifle manufacturers....and factory...
