      AR-15 built on pistol reciever question

      If I built an AR-15 on a designated pistol lower but put a stock and an upper with a 16" barrel on it would it be legal to take to the range without a license to carry since it has a stock and a barrel 16" or over or would it still be considered a pistol since the lower is able to be built into one?
