I’m trying to field strip for cleaning my Kimber Custom ll45. I have done this many times before now the barrel bushing will not clearthe recoil spring guide rod. It is like the rod is too long any thoughts on howto get it a part?
    Thanks
    Jim

Take the slide off before messing with the bushing.
Glock styleunless the guide rod has a hex in the end of it- that gives you the option to disassemble the guide rod into 2 parts

If the slide is pushed back just a little it will prevent it from clearing.

Well, you got me looking at mine and while I was at it I cleaned it again and oiled it. I'm doing my Springfield Loaded next.
