Up for sale is a 1997 SR5 4WD in Evergreen Pearl with 289,XXX miles on the engine. It’s an automatic with no e-locker. Clean title.

This truck is not currently running and is listed 100% “as-is.” The engine was running strong, but it seems the transmission is blown. I haven’t had a complete diagnosis, but transmission housing is seriously damaged and cracked (pics below). I just can’t justify putting more money into it and I don’t have a good place to store it and work on it right now.

The frame and underside of the truck has a lot of surface rust since it is a Midwest vehicle and has always been in Indiana. I had the frame reinforced with Saf-T-Caps welded in place by an authorized installer in several spots so it’s a solid frame, but probably not a good candidate for a frame replacement project. There’s also a fair amount of body rust which you’ll see in the photos below.

I put a lot of newer parts into this over the past few years until it left me stranded on the side of the highway. Full list of parts upgrades listed after photos. I can share all service records I have plus additional pictures on request.

Priced to move at $2,500, OBO. I am pricing this like it’s a parts car, with many parts like the suspension, tires, wheels being practically new. The suspension components and tires only have around 8,000-9,000 miles on them. I did a Tundra brake upgrade and installed new rotors, calipers, pads and brake lines around 4,000 miles ago. Wheels and tires alone are worth like $1,500, but I don’t have the luxury of parting everything out separately. This would be a great buy for anyone looking for a parts car, or who wants a project vehicle that could likely be brought back to life with a junkyard transmission.

I also have a brand-new Trail Gear Rock Defense Tube Bumper I will include at no extra cost. (Retail price is $650+). I spray painted it black, but it’s never been installed. All installation hardware is included, but some light grinding will be required to install over Saf-T-Caps on reinforced frame.

This is currently sitting on a lot in Frankfort, Indiana and will require a trailer or tow truck to pick up. That’s about an hour north of Indianapolis and about 25 minutes southeast of Lafayette, IN.
