22LR pistol for friday night steel

I want to buy a 22lr pistol mainly for my 11yr old son for friday night steel. Any recomendations?

Ruger 22/45 or Buckmark are both fine pistols for FNS. 22's can be a little difficult to hear hitting the steel with all the noise going on.

There was a youngster last time, but he was shooting a 22 AR. I concur about the MkIII or Buckmark, but any 22 that fits their hand should work. I have a Buckmark that I'd be happy to let him try sometime.

Ruger 22/45 is hard to beat. Its reliable, its more accurate than you'll ever be able to match, and it's cheap to boot.
