3/26/2011 SKS Shoot AAR - Pictures / Videos

Had a great time at the shoot. Thanks to all who came out for the fun and for being safe, as usual!

One of the neighbors apparently doesn't share the same passion for guns.

The Monroe County Sheriff's deputy that came out was very professional. He just said he wanted to make sure we were safe because "a neighbor was concerned". I told him who I was, he said to be safe and he was on his way in a few minutes!

Hopefully he went back and talked to my not-so-gun-friendly neighbor and let him know we were well within our rights.

Zephri...what sort of Anti-tank rounds were used on the enemy Panzer? It appears that the tanks armor was no match for them.

We did determine that .50BMG ball ammo DOES NOT penetrate 3/8" AR500 at 60yds, or even 35yds. When I finally get finished unpacking I'll post pictures of the targets up.

But we also determined that it *will* break the pallet holding the steel in half and throw it several yards into the woods.

Almost forgot - we also determined that tracer .223 rounds *will* start a fire which will spread quickly if you don't notice the smoke.

88E30M50 shot it with a varity of calibers and then finished it off with the .50 BMG The tank didn't stand a chance.
