Are silencers considered muzzle brakes? I would like to try one of these events, but only have the option of running a muzzle brake or a silencer installed over the muzzle brake. I dont care about the points. I would just like an opportunity to learn while shooting at distances over 100 yards.

Sign up and bring it out! Typical NRA rules don't allow silencers for some stupid reason, but we do. You'd always be allowed to shoot, regardless of who's sanctioning the match.

April 10th is the next midrange match (300, 500, 600, 600, 600 yards). I'd strongly recommend a midrange match before you do a 3x1000 yard or Palma match.

Thank you! I agree. Going from 100 to 1000 yards seems like a stretch. I'll try to make the April 10th event.

You guys missed a good one this weekend. Some of the calmest conditions I've ever shot in, especially at 1000 yards this morning. Shooting a proper prone rifle instead of a service rifle feels like cheating after the last 4 years.

Not at all! I'm shooting a .223, using Hornady 80 and 88 ELD-M's. A 31" barrel sure helps get the speed up where it needs to be.

LOL! He's coming back into the 22 long range matches this year. He's been building guns for it.
I think I would like F-class if I ever started in it. The rimfire and handgun silo matches consume a lot of my time. I need to organize myself better.
