I've been thinking of using no lead ammo for my 3006s, when I hunt Colorado, and was wondering if there's one brand in particular I should look at. I prefer 165 BTSP, as it has been my favorite for many years, and I can use for everything I want to hunt. Thanks!

Hornady Superformance GMX is the most accurate I have tried of the no lead's except the Federal loaded with Barnes. But of course the Barnes are far more expensive. If you would care to load your own, I shoot 30-06 and have three loads that shoot .375 or under and I will share the recipe with you if you PM me.

Those were exactly the loads I've got my eye on. Hornady is my personal favorite for factory loads, and the least expensive. IMO

    Will contact.

    Thanks

On another note, It says on the box that both of these types of bullets are not suitable for hunting because they fragment causing superficial damage, if that is possible with a 155gr bullet traveling in excess of 3000fps. Here is a picture of a coyote shot in the forehead (lots of bone) and exiting his stomach. Approx. 24" from POI. Just sayin, If 24" of penetration is not enough than you are in Africa.:D
